Technology Integration

Helpful Resources for Students and Parents

Technology Access

All Tolleson Union High School District students have access to a district-issued laptop and a variety of educational, communication, and productivity tools to make learning with digital access more seamless.

StudentVUE/ParentVUE

TUHSD provides students and parents access to their student information, current grades, attendance, and discipline data through the StudentVUE and ParentVUE mobile apps and webpage. Students are given access to StudentVUE upon receipt of their technology credentials, and parents are required to visit the school’s guidance department to obtain an activation key required to create their ParentVUE account.

Microsoft 365

All students and staff of the Tolleson Union High School District have dedicated accounts for Microsoft 365 (Office 365). With this subscription, users may effectively communicate with their teachers, collaborate with their peers, and work independently using a variety of web apps such as Outlook, Calendar, Teams, OneDrive, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, Stream, and Sway.

Canvas

Canvas is TUHD’s adopted learning management system where teachers may provide lesson content, give assignments and assessments, allow for interactive activities, provide feedback, and foster a safe learning environment for their students.

Edgenuity

Edgenuity is the content management website for course materials that students may use in their classes or for credit recovery. Below are videos about navigating the Edgenuity platform and utilizing its learning tools.

Note: Current and final grades for classes must be referenced in StudentVUE/ParentVUE.

Nearpod

Nearpod is an interactive, multimodal lesson and assessment tool that allows teachers to provide content and formatively assess student understanding of skills and concepts for just-in-time learning. Teachers using Nearpod will give students a lesson code to access the Nearpod lesson. Student responses are securely entered for teachers to review. Nearpod lessons may be teacher-driven or student-paced.

Other Content-Specific Technologies

Teachers may integrate content-specific technologies into their lessons. Such technologies include NoRedInk for grammar and writing, TurnItIn Feedback Studio for plagiarism checking and student feedback, DeltaMath for mathematics support, and Pivot Interactives for interactive science activities.
