Child Find Notice
The intent of Child Find under both federal and state requirements is that all children from birth through age 21 with delays or disabilities receive the support and services they need. Public agencies responsible for providing these supports and services are obligated to actively search to “find” children who may be eligible and conduct an eligibility determination process that includes screening and evaluation according to state-established criteria. TUHSD is searching for any high school students within our boundaries who may have difficulties resulting from a disability and may need special education services in order to succeed in school. Please contact 623-478-4057 if you have any questions.
In addition, if your child is elementary-aged or aged 3-5, please contact the elementary school in your area for information about the Child Find procedures in their district.
Children ages birth to 2 years 10 1/2 months are screened through the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) to determine if early intervention services are needed. If you have questions about your child’s development, an AzEIP specialist will talk with you about your concerns and observe your child. Make an online referral at AzEIP. For more information, call AzEIP at 602-532-9960.
