Employee Benefits

The Tolleson Union High School District is pleased to offer competitive employee benefits. Please take the time to carefully review your benefits by clicking on any of the documents below.

For new hires, there is a waiting period for benefits. Benefits become effective on the 1st day of the month following the 30-calendar day waiting period. If you choose not to enroll for any of the insurance coverages within 30 days of your initial hire date, you will have to wait to enroll during the next open enrollment period *. The only exception to this rule is if you and/or your family experience a qualifying event such as loss in health coverage with another employer, marriage, birth and/or adoption and the new enrollment is completed within 30 days of the qualifying event. Should you have any questions about the benefits available to you, please do not hesitate to contact the Benefits Office.

(Employees who work 30+ hours weekly, or a minimum of .8 FTE for teachers, are eligible for medical/dental benefits.)

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

Open Enrollment

Open enrollment allows eligible employees to make changes to their benefits (i.e., add/drop dependents, change plans, enroll for new coverage). Open enrollment is for a specified period and must be completed online. Employees who miss open enrollment will have to wait until the next calendar year’s open enrollment period.
