Professional Development Library
The Professional Library is a district-wide collection of almost 1,000 books, book study sets, videos, and other materials. We have designed the library for professional educators to use in classroom preparation, in team building activities, and in researching educational topics of personal interest.
Educators may check out resources for a three-week period and may renew them for an additional three weeks. You may borrow resources from the Professional Library by contacting your school media specialist. When requesting a resource, please provide the call number and title. The book(s) will be sent to your school via the school courier.
Tolleson Union High School District staff can identify and access the resources that are available in the Professional Development Library by:
- Logging into Destiny (the shortcut is on your desktop)
- Searching for the desired resource by title, author, or subject
- Checking out the desired professional development resource through your school’s media specialist
- Checking out the material under your name for a period of three weeks (you may keep the resource for more than three weeks by notifying your media specialist). If the resource is housed at an alternate location (a TUHSD school or the TUHSD district office) you will receive the resource via interoffice mail.
- Returning the resource to your media specialist before the due date. If it is an inter-district transfer the media specialist will ensure the item returns to circulation at the appropriate location.
