Superintendent’s Message: January 2026

Jeremy Calles, Superintendent

Dear Tolleson Union High School District Students, Families, and Staff,

Welcome back! It is my hope that each of you had a relaxing and enjoyable time with loved ones during the break. There is something special about watching the calendar turn from December to January just that feeling of closure with optimism for something new. It’s a great moment for professional and personal reflection on the year that has passed.

The success of our district was as bright as the sun last year, but every bright light will cast dark shadows. It would be easy to be consumed by the darkness of the shadows but then we would lose sight of the importance of the light. Let that be our focus and let’s make that light even brighter. In 2026, we ambitiously look forward to another school moving from a B to an A and the district letter grade moving from a B to an A. As well as Commitment Day getting bigger and better, the continued success and expansion of unified sports, the construction of our new school, and increased success for all students. Let’s make this year even better than last year.

We are fully resolved to achieve the goals we laid out in our strategic plan, and I hope that 2026 is a year that each of you achieves your resolutions as well.

Here’s to a fantastic second semester and a productive, successful, and happy new year!

Warm regards,

Jeremy Calles
