La Joya Community High School seniors Wintana Yohannes and Garret Clinton are recipients of a College Match scholarship through Questbridge, an organization that connects the brightest low-income students to America’s best universities. Wintana and Garret will each receive a four-year scholarship valued at approximately $250,000 to their college of choice – Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts (Wintana) and Washington and Lee University in Lexington City, Virginia (Garret). Connect2Compete is a national nonprofit organization Cox Communications has partnered with to offer significantly discounted prices for cable broadband service and equipment for families with children in grades K-12 who participate in the National Free School Lunch Program.
