Student Profile
The Continuing Education Academy was established to provide a last resort for students who have exhausted the educational resources available at the main campuses. The following are examples of students who may use this resource:
Returning dropout who may need transition to the main campus.
Older students (18 years and older) who would like to pre-test for the GED as part of the Evening Program.
Student on long-term suspension who has been recommended by district hearing officer (must also be approved).
Parenting students with childcare issues or student who is due the semesters they are referred.
Student who has special health issues and all resources at the main campus have been exhausted.
Junior or Senior (by credit accumulation) with a full schedule on home campus and needs additional credits, and has exhausted all home campus resources. Student must have passed all core classes the previous semester.
Special needs and 504 students must be approved by the District Director of Special services.
Junior or Senior who must work during school hours because of family or personal commitments.
Fifth year seniors (who should have graduated prior to June of 2007) who are in need of required courses that are no longer offered by their home campus.
Students who receive special administrative referral from their home campus. The school administrator must sign referral form.
* ALL students must be able to perform at a minimum 6th grade level, and be able to function independently.
** ALL referrals will be screened by CEA administrative staff to assure appropriate resources are available.
